Located just north across the estuary from Playa Tamarindo is Playa Grande. This pristine beach is part of Marino Las Baulas National Park. The beach itself is an active nesting ground for the Olive Ridley sea turtle. As the name implies, Playa Grande is a rather large beach as it encompasses over 5 miles of virgin coastline. This Guanacaste beach attracts advanced surfers as well as laid back travelers looking to experience Costa Rica at it's most pristine. It is also an excellent location for a destination wedding as there are many villas located beachfront.
